Good news for millions of Dan Brown fans worldwide: The new book will be
published on September 26th, 2017

Cologne, September 28, 2016. Exciting news for Dan Brown fans all over the
world: The global publishing phenomenon, author of the #1 international
blockbusters Inferno and The Da Vinci Code, has written his latest Robert
Langdon thriller. Doubleday will release the novel Origin in the US and
Canada on September 26, 2017. Bastei Lübbe will publish the sure-fire
bestseller simultaneously in the German speaking countries. In the words of
Thomas Schierack, CEO of Bastei Lübbe AG: "With great excitement we are
looking forward to the publication of Dan Brown's new work. And we are
proud of the long relationship with one of the most successful writers on
this planet. The economic significance is a major topic for our company."

A relationship, that began in 2003 with the tremendous success of
Illuminati in Germany. "We are very happy to be one of Dan Brown's
publishers right from the beginning. The personal relationship between Dan
Brown and our publishing house means so much to us and each of his novels
is of utmost importance to everyone at Lübbe", says Klaus Kluge, COO of
Bastei Lübbe AG.

In keeping with his trademark style, Brown interweaves codes, science,
religion, history, art and architecture into this new novel. Origin thrusts
Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon into the dangerous intersection of
humankind's two most enduring questions, and the earth-shaking discovery
that will answer them.

Just days before the premiere of the blockbuster movie Inferno (October
13th) Bastei Lübbe is pleased to announce a second coup: The YA-edition of
Dan Brown's The Da Vinci Code will be published by ONE, a division of
Bastei Lübbe, simultaneously with the new Robert Langdon thriller in
September 2017. This abridged version of one of the most successful novels
of all time is intended to introduce a new and younger readership to the
work of Dan Brown.

Worldwide there are more than 200 million copies of Dan Brown's books in
print, and his novels have been translated into 56 languages. His most
recent bestseller Inferno has a print-run of 1,85 million copies in German
speaking countries, including physical and digital copies and audiobooks.
Bastei Lübbe's turnover of this sole title amounts up to just under 15,5
million Euros.
