The College of American Pathologists (CAP) presented the CAP Pathology Advancement Award to TriCore's Cordelia Sever, MD, FCAP.


ALBUQUERQUE, N.M., Oct. 3, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The College of American Pathologists (CAP) presented the CAP Pathology Advancement Award to TriCore's Cordelia Sever, MD, FCAP. The award presented to Dr. Sever "in recognition of her ability to adapt to new changes in pathology and the challenges that come with them."

Dr. Sever has always had a passion for quality management. She had this to say regarding the future of quality health management, "As pathologists, we are getting closer to the 'zero-error zone' and see many clinical areas with excellent patient outcomes. I leverage my knowledge of quality processes to pick the right battles and drive the passion for quality right to the front lines of patient care."

Dr. Sever is committed to quality assurance and laboratory advancement and has for her entire career. She is the co-medical director of the clinical laboratory, hematology at TriCore Reference Laboratories, vice president and director of clinical pathology at Pathology Associates of Albuquerque and medical director of Presbyterian Hospital Laboratory and Presbyterian Branch Labs as well as currently serving as President of the Greater Albuquerque Medical Association.
