WNC Announces Executive Promotions


IRVINE, Calif., Oct. 05, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- WNC, a national investor in real estate and community development initiatives, announced today that the company has promoted Kristin Han to vice president of compliance and Tammy Bliss to director of construction risk management. The leading investor in low-income housing tax credits (LIHTC) has also promoted Ben Cornejo to director of asset management within its subsidiary, Community Preservation Partners (CPP).

Han, who joined WNC in 1997, brings more than 26 years of experience to her role as vice president of compliance. During the past 18 years, she has maintained regulatory and statutory compliance on the company’s affordable housing portfolio, including 900 partnerships comprised of multifamily, senior, special needs, mixed-financing and mixed-use housing. Han was recognized as WNC’s Employee of the Year in 2013. She has spoken at conferences hosted by the National Council of State Housing Agencies (NCSHA) numerous times, as well as other national and regional conferences. Han is a recognized expert as an author of articles for industry trade publications. She currently serves on the board of governors for the Housing Credit Certified Professional (HCCP) group of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), where she serves as chair of the distribution sub-committee and vice-chair of the HCCP exam sub-committee.

As director of construction risk management, Bliss monitors the nationwide construction of real estate for risk mitigation and investor reporting. Since joining WNC in 2013, she has been responsible for a real estate portfolio valued in excess of $1.3 billion in development projects. Bliss, who brings more than 26 years to her role at WNC, was a recipient of the company’s Eagle Award in 2015, a peer-nominated award recognizing individuals for outstanding efforts and values in line with the firm’s, including responsibility, integrity, teamwork and quality. Bliss is a member of the Apartment Association of Greater Los Angeles, California Association of Realtors, National Association of Realtors and National Apartment Association (NAA). She holds a California broker’s license and the Independent Rental Owner Professional designation earned from the NAA.

CPP was established in 2004 to promote the preservation of low-income housing and to assist existing owners and/or general partners with recapitalizing and revitalizing their affordable housing portfolios. As director of asset management with CPP, Cornejo leads the firm’s asset management efforts in mitigating risk in each of its developments. A recipient of WNC’s Eagle Award, he has nearly 20 years of experience in multifamily affordable housing and joined WNC in 2001 as part of the company’s property management team. Cornejo earned the HCCP designation from the NAHB and is a Certified Credit Compliance Professional.
