Connecticut Technology Council Brings Tenth Annual Innovation Summit Back to Hartford

Renewed Focus on Growth and Disruptive Technology Adds Clout to Established Event

HARTFORD, Conn., Oct. 27, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Connecticut Technology Council will bring the 2016 Innovation Summit back to the Connecticut Convention Center in Hartford on November 17, 2016 from 9 am to 3:30 pm. The Council is pleased to present this year’s Innovation Summit in conjunction with its partners: Angel Investor Forum, BEACON, Crossroads Venture Group, CURE and Connecticut Innovations.

Celebrating its tenth year, the Innovation Summit connects innovators, investors and entrepreneurs for this collaborative and creative day-long event. The most significant change from years past is the introduction of the Most Disruptive Technology Contest. The call for any and all Connecticut-area researchers, inventors, makers, tinkerers and disruptors to put forth their ground-breaking ideas has gone out, and interested competitors can learn more and register at the Connecticut Technology Council site.

“This event celebrates a decade of innovation excellence in Connecticut,” said Bruce Carlson, President and CEO of the Connecticut Technology Council. “Connecticut’s new and growing companies are looking for resources that will help them thrive in today’s economy. The Innovation Summit is the place for them to find everything they’re looking for; a one-stop-shop for talent, funding, mentoring, networking and professional development.”

The 2016 Summit will feature workshops designed for companies at all stages of growth and establishment, as well as a Corporate Roundtable on Innovation. Once again, Lunch with an Angel Investor, Lawyer, or Marketer will feature prominently, as well as the networking-specific Innovation Showcase.

“The workshops and expert panelists featured this year are answering very specific needs for launching and growing companies,” Bruce Carlson said. “We have leveraged our expertise in the tech ecosystem in Connecticut to bring these valuable assets to the people who need them most: our homegrown innovators.”

The Connecticut Technology Council is currently accepting applications for both the 2016 Innovation Summit Showcase companies and participants in the Most Disruptive Technology Contest. The Council will continue selecting showcase companies on a rolling basis through November 9. The application deadline is November 1. Click here to apply or visit ct.org for more information.
