Coast to Coast Events unveils Charity of the Month program, aiming to help the Birmingham community through corporate philanthropy

Birmingham, Nov. 01, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Since stationing its headquarters in Birmingham, AL, in 2012, Coast to Coast Events has worked to support its surrounding community. As the C2C team’s roots have deepened, so has its community reach. Immediately upon arrival to Birmingham, the C2C team partnered with The Foundry, and hosted a holiday canned food drive, as well as sponsored local little league teams in the area. While this outreach continues, C2C has also announced its Charity of the Month Program.  “We feel strongly that we should support such an amazing area, as they have supported us since we arrived! The best way to get to know the community is to get involved in the community.” said Alice Lowery, part of the Hoover office staff.

With October coming to an end, Coast to Coast Events has named the Breast Cancer Research Foundation of Alabama its Charity of the Month. Since 1985, the American Cancer Society has promoted October as breast cancer awareness month; this designation aims to increase awareness and encourage mammograms as the most effective weapon against breast cancer.[1] In 1993, Evelyn Lauder established the pink ribbon as the universal symbol for breast cancer awareness. With breast cancer affecting one in eight women[2], Coast to Coast Events has chosen to support to Breast Cancer Research Foundation of Alabama. For all of October, money from each sale done by their sales department will be donated to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation of Alabama. “This charity really hits home. We have several managers who have seen first-hand what the fight against breast cancer involves. One of our corporate trainers in our office, Thomas, is the son of a breast cancer survivor. We’re doing this charity for these families, and those still being impacted,” Cody Lowery, President of Coast to Coast Events, told us.

Coast to Coast Events is committed to its community, and shows its dedication through more ways than its new Charity of the Month Program. While the marketing firm continues to grow in both business and outreach, it stays grounded by maintaining its first Birmingham connection, annually partnering with The Foundry for a holiday canned food drive. C2C also continues to sponsor little league teams, helping provide new and safe equipment for young athletes. This past football season C2C added the Hoover Highschool Bucs to their growing roster of sponsored teams.

Coast to Coast Events has also participated in silent auctions for Children’s of Alabama Hospital, and work with Cultivate Church in Alabaster. Through donors like Coast to Coast Events, Cultivate Church has built a charitable alliance with several foundations. Some of these include, Compassion International which provides care for children in need, as well as help victims of the Louisiana floods in August of this year.

The President of Coast to Coast explained to us that his team is geared up and excited to continue their corporate philanthropy throughout 2016 and continuing for years to come. They believe they have recently “upped the stakes” with the addition of their Charity of the Month program. Thus far, designated charities have included the Ronald McDonald house, St. Jude, Habitat for Humanity, and the Breast Cancer Research Foundation of Alabama. It is refreshing to see a local business redirecting its success back into the community.

As the outlook continues to look bright for this established Birmingham firm, and we are excited to see what their donations of time and money can do throughout the community.
