Solomons Veterinary Medical Center Announces New Doctors, Dr. Barnes and Dr. Ernst


SOLOMONS, Md., Dec. 11, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Dr. Patrick Barnes and Dr. Jessica Ernst, both veterinarians, have recently joined the expanding team at Solomons Veterinary Medical Center. Dr. Patrick Barnes, receiving his doctorate from the Tuskegee University School of Veterinary Medicine, and Dr. Jessica Ernst, a graduate of the University of Minnesota, are available to offer their experience and care to local pets. The team looks forward to having the new veterinarians join them and use their veterinary expertise to serve the needs of pet patients at Solomons Veterinary Medical Center.

Dr. Patrick Barnes, raised in the Washington metro area, obtained his Undergraduate at North Carolina A&T University with a Bachelor of Science in Lab Animal Science in 2008. He graduated from Tuskegee University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2012. He is an active member of his church and music ministry and also contributes to the community through his fraternity Alpha Phi Alpha Inc. He is enjoying serving the needs of pet owners and patients at Solomons Veterinary Medical Center.

Dr. Jessica Ernst, a native of Minnesota, received her undergraduate degree in Biology from the University of Minnesota. She has experience developing vaccines for bacterial diseases at Syntiron, a small biotechnology firm. Having missed working with animals, she returned to school and pursued her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine at the University of Minnesota. She became a recent transplant to the East Coast from Minnesota when she began work at Solomons Veterinary Medical Center. She specializes in dermatology, cytology, ultrasonography and preventative medicine. She enjoys playing with her dog, Pepper, and two cats, Trixie, and Falcon when at home.
