Latvenergo AS Supervisory Board Elected

On 16 December, the Shareholders' Meeting of Latvenergo AS elected the Supervisory Board of Latvenergo AS for a five-year term. The Council will consist of five members: Mārtiņš Bičevskis, Andris Liepiņš, Andris Ozoliņš, Baiba Rubesa, and Martin Sedlacky.


Riga, 2016-12-16 15:04 CET (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- In accordance with the Law On Governance of Capital Shares of a Public Person and Capital Companies, and with guidance from the OECD, the Supervisory Board of Latvenergo AS has been established to enhance efficiency of public assets’ management.

The first meeting of the Supervisory Board also took place today, electing Andris Ozoliņš as Chairman of the Supervisory Board and Andris Liepiņš as Deputy Chairman.

Andris Liepiņš – work experience includes: 2014–2016 – Chairman of the Management Board at Starptautiskā lidosta “Rīga” VAS; 2011–2014 – Chairman of the Supervisory Board at Air Baltic Corporation AS; 2001–2014 – Deputy State Secretary at the Ministry of Economics.

Andris Ozoliņš – work experience includes: from 2016 – Member of the Supervisory Board at Baltic International Bank AS; 2013–2014 – Member of the Supervisory Board at Reverta AS; 2013 – member of the Supervisory Board at Kredītinformācijas birojs AS.

Baiba Rubesa – work experience includes: from 2015 – Chairperson of the Management Board, Chief Executive Officer at RB RAIL AS; from 2014 – owner and Chairperson of the Management Board at RFactory SIA; 2012–2015 – Member of the Supervisory Board at Citadele Banka AS.

Mārtiņš Bičevskis – work experience: from 2016 – Chairman of the Supervisory Board at Valsts Nekustamie īpašumi VAS; from 2012 – Vice President, Member of the Supervisory Board at the Employers’ Confederation of Latvia; from 2011 – Member of the Management Board, President at the Association of Latvian Commercial Banks.

Martin Sedlacky – work experience: since 2012 – member of the Management Board at Air Baltic Corporation AS, Chief Operations Officer; 2006–2013 – project manager at The Boston Consulting Group (Prague, Czech Republic).

The diverse nomination committee in charge of candidate selection and evaluation included representatives of the Ministry of Economics and the Cross-Sectoral Coordination Centre, independent experts from the Baltic Institute of Corporate Governance and Latvian Trade Union Energija, and the HR professionals at Fontes Executive Search SIA.
