Newsware Releases Newswatch 15.8, the Latest Upgrade of Its Real-Time, News Aggregation and Filtering System for the Financial Community

HOBOKEN, N.J., Feb. 28, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- NewsWare, a division of Brown Box Financial Services, Inc., today released NewsWatch 15.8, the latest version of its flagship news aggregation and filtering product. NewsWatch 15.8 offers enhancements to its news-alert tool that provides functionality not found elsewhere, giving institutional traders, fund managers and registered investment Advisors the breaking financial news that they want most, first.

In 15.8, NewsWare focuses on display functions, according to President Bill Olsen. For example, in response to client requests for time-specific, color-coded alerts, incoming news stories can now be displayed with a different background color than previously released stories and traders and investors can select their time preference in terms of minutes.

With this release, Olsen said, “NewsWare extends its leadership position in the news-filtering industry with enhancements to NewsWatch that enable traders and investors to customize the delivery of headlines specifically of interest to them.”

New features include:

  • Time-sensitive background color changes: Alerts can now be displayed with two colors to clearly identify the most recent news headlines within an alert.
  • Spacing: NewsWatch 15.8 adds a 1.5 and 2.0 spacing option to its previous single-spaced format.
  • Composite display: Traders and investors can consolidate all their active alerts into a single window. Each headline is tagged with the name of the alert in the first layout field.
  • Saving Layouts: NewsWatch offers a number of different fields, including Vendor Code, Hot News indicator, Stock Ticker, Time, Date, Exchanges, and Headline. While traders and investors have had the ability to make these fields larger or smaller, in 15.8 these display adjustments will now be saved.

“Client input and feedback are critical contributors to NewsWatch’s constant upgrade process.  This latest release continues our tradition of listening to our clients to make NewsWatch the easiest to use and fastest system for getting customized news,” Olsen added.

NewsWatch is a fully customizable, real-time streaming news system that is available through the Internet or dedicated lines.
