Outstanding participation of Mr. Salinas before an audience of 800 entrepreneurs at the National Convention of Industrialists of the CANACINTRA

MEXICO CITY, March 27, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Grupo Salinas, a group of dynamic, fast-growing and technologically advanced companies, deeply committed to the modernization of the countries where they operate, announced today that its founder, Ricardo B. Salinas, presented his ideas on the importance of companies in promoting the generation of shared social value and inclusive prosperity in Mexico.

At the Center for Exhibitions and Conventions of Toluca, Mexico, before Interior Minister Miguel Ángel Osorio Chong,  State of Mexico Governor Eruviel Ávila, and more than 800 attendees, including Enrique Guillén and María de Lourdes Medina, — National President and Vice-President of CANACINTRA, respectively— as well as businessmen and executives of 80 delegations from the industrial chamber, Mr. Salinas said that in addition to generating wealth, companies should promote important social changes as well  improve the environment.

He cited Grupo Salinas companies as promoters of inclusive prosperity, through the creation of economic value —with constant innovation in the market, creation of jobs, and the generation of world-class goods and services at affordable prices— social value —which brings communities closer and strengthen civil society— and environmental value, which mitigates the negative impacts of productive activities on the environment.

Mr. Salinas stressed the need to promote a cultural change in Mexico to strengthen wealth generation and development, and added that it is necessary to facilitate the freedom to undertake and promote progress. He advocated strong opposition to any action that seeks to restrict these freedoms.

He said development needs the four fundamental pillars of Western society: rule of law, liberal democracy, free markets and citizen participation.

Finally, Mr. Salinas pointed out that it is necessary to seek a balance between profit generation and public interest, and that we are obliged to build solid alliances between companies, government and civil society to solve the increasingly complex problems that we face and build inclusive prosperity.

Grupo Salinas and its founder, Ricardo B. Salinas, seek to promote entrepreneurship in Mexico, in an environment of freedom, to reach higher levels of development and prosperity.
