FORTRUST CEO Steve Knudson Awarded 2017 Nancy J Sauer Philanthropy Award

KidsTek honors FORTRUST executive for his generous support of underprivileged youth in Colorado

DENVER, March 28, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- FORTRUST Vice Chairman, President and CEO Steve Knudson has been awarded the 2017 Nancy J Sauer Philanthropy Award by KidsTek, a Denver non-profit that strives to increase the technology literacy of students at Colorado's highest-needs schools.

KidsTek provides an extensive technology curriculum for host schools with the goal of providing the tools for long-term academic and career success. The Nancy J Sauer Philanthropy Award honors former KidsTek Chairperson Nancy Sauer.  As a business owner and industry leader, Sauer believed that higher education is key, especially in the technology industry. The award honors her legacy and passion for helping to launch students into colleges and careers. Knudson will be presented with the award at the Annual KidsTek Tech Leaders Gala and fundraiser on April 6th.

“We are delighted to present Steve with the 2017 Nancy J Sauer Philanthropy Award,” says Richard Liner, Executive Director at KidsTek. “He has been an exceptional mentor and representative of philanthropy throughout Colorado.”

“It’s an honor to receive this award,” says Knudson. “KidsTek provides a strong foundation for students who are interested in technology, and it’s a privilege to support their work. Ensuring access to technology will provide long term success for not only the students, but for the sustainability of Colorado businesses.”

Known for his passion for giving back to the community, Knudson has long been a supporter of KidsTek and STEM education.  In addition to his work with KidsTek, he contributes time and funding to the University of Colorado Foundation, The CU Athletic Foundation, Ronald McDonald House, and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
