SG Blocks Completes Shipment and Installation of Container-Based GreenDrop in Pennsylvania

Leading Construction Industry Innovator Also Selected to Design a Container-Based Urban School Expansion Project in Chicago and Successfully Delivers Navy Modules in Six Weeks


BROOKLYN, N.Y., April 19, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- SG Blocks Inc. (“SG Blocks”), a premier designer, innovator and fabricator of container-based structures, today announced it has delivered and installed a new modular structure for GreenDrop, a clothing and household goods drop-off facility, which benefits local charities.

GreenDrop has been selected by the American Red Cross, the Military Order of the Purple Heart, the National Federation of the Blind and the Society of St. Vincent de Paul of Philadelphia, to raise funds through the generation of items. The container-based building will be located at 433 Egypt Road, Norristown, PA. The base building module and structural framing system was constructed of one 40-foot high container.

SG Blocks also revealed it has been chosen to design an urban school expansion project in Chicago. The innovator will create a design to celebrate containers as architecture and it will be a science, technology, engineering and math center. It will be built from three-to-four SG Block containers.

Additionally, the company announced it successfully delivered a six-unit container-based office building for the U.S. Navy in six weeks. The six modules Navy project are being used to create a 2,000-square-foot structure that will be two stories tall.
