PREX17 Conference Welcomes Pulitzer Prize Winner Glenn Greenwald as Keynote Speaker

Known for breaking the Edward Snowden story, Greenwald is a constitutional lawyer, national security expert and watchdog of government policies concerning privacy and civil rights

PORTLAND, OR--(Marketwired - May 30, 2017) - The Sixth Annual PREX Conference, the nation's premier conference for in-house e-discovery professionals, announced today that acclaimed journalist and New York Times' best-selling author Glenn Greenwald will join the faculty as the featured keynote presenter. Greenwald came to worldwide prominence in June 2013 when, while an editor at The Guardian, he released the Snowden documents revealing the presence of widespread government surveillance.

Acclaimed as one of the world's leading political thinkers, Glenn Greenwald is a former constitutional law and civil rights litigator. He has authored four New York Times best-selling books, including How Would a Patriot Act? and With Liberty and Justice for Some. His most recent best-seller, No Place to Hide: Edward Snowden, the NSA, and the U.S. Surveillance State, details his experience creating a series of reports for The Guardian about whistleblower Snowden's documents on the NSA. The 2014 documentary film, Citizenfour, is based on these reports. Greenwald's NSA reporting has won numerous awards, including a George Polk Award in 2013 and a Pulitzer Prize for public service in 2014. He is currently founding editor of new media outlet, The Intercept, and is a frequent commentator on CNN, MSNBC, Morning Joe and Democracy Now.

"Glenn Greenwald was at the center of the story of the decade which has many parallels to the legal and technology issues that PREX has focused on since the beginning," said Brad Harris, PREX conference director. "It is a privilege to have Glenn join us. His participation shows how the conference continues to grow in stature and scope. I am certain his talk will broaden our understanding and deepen the conversation about the boundary layer between law and technology."

This year's event, PREX17, takes place September 12-14, 2017, at the Portland Art Museum in Portland, Oregon. The conference has received accreditation for CLE credits. To register and learn more about the program, visit www.prex17.com.
