CORTE MADERA, Calif., July 11, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Suppose TV LLC announced today the public availability of its website Suppose introduces the first-ever tool for searching and comparing TV services, amidst an explosion of TV choices for consumers.

Since early 2015, seven new major players have entered the television services market.  Each of these streaming TV service providers – including Sling TV, PlayStation Vue, DirecTV Now, YouTube TV, Hulu Live, fuboTV, and CenturyLink – offers packages and add-ons with different channels and features. These streaming TV service providers join a marketplace with cable TV operators, satellite TV operators, and single-channel subscription services like CBS All Access and HBO Now.  Consumers can now choose from millions of combinations of providers, packages and add-ons.

With Suppose, users find their best TV services.  Suppose offers unbiased search results based on the user’s choice of channels and preferences among providers, devices, or other service features.  The Suppose algorithm filters and prioritizes the options, and presents offers that best satisfy the user’s choices at the lowest cost.  With the Suppose results, users can make tradeoffs between providers and packages, and find their best TV service choices.  Suppose provides links to the service providers’ websites, where users can sign up for their services.

“The average cable or satellite TV customer spends about $80-90 per month and receives over 200 channels, but actually watches less than ten percent of those channels,” says Suppose co-founder John Tantum. “The new streaming TV service providers offer cheaper packages with fewer channels, and are a great choice for many people. But it can be difficult to understand what services they include, and how they compare.  Suppose directly addresses this problem.”

”The Suppose algorithm considers a user’s channel choices and priorities, including ‘must-have’ channels.  It also allows the adjustment for price sensitivity, where a user can opt for more channels or lower prices,” says Suppose co-founder Andrew Shapiro.  “The results are unbiased and can include service options that combine offers from more than one provider.”

"Many consumers are asking themselves if they can benefit by switching providers, and what they may have to give up to realize any savings. There is no simple way to answer that question. Consumers need tools to make the comparison easier, particularly now there are new options from providers like Sling TV and PlayStation Vue to consider," says Colin Dixon, Founder and Chief Analyst of nScreenMedia.
