STATEMENT BY U.S. CONFERENCE OF MAYORS CEO & EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR ABOUT THE EVENTS IN CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA

New Orleans, LA, Aug. 12, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- U.S. Conference of Mayors CEO & Executive Director Tom Cochran today issued the following statement about the events in Charlottesville, VA:

“Mayors of all parties, from coast to coast, stand united in support of Charlottesville, VA Mayor Mike Signer. We want to send a firm, united message that hate and violence have absolutely no place in our public square. We urge every leader, at every level of government, to be firm that in the year 2017, there is no place in America for the kinds of display we are seeing in Charlottesville, nor the violence that has resulted because of it."
