Simplification of Aktia Bank plc’s governance structure completed

As a step towards simplification of the company’s governance structure, the Extraordinary General Meeting of Aktia Bank plc did on 21 September 2017 take the decision to amend the bank’s articles of association in order to abolish the Board of Supervisors as well as to appoint a Nomination Board comprising representatives of the five largest shareholders to prepare the election of members of the Board of Directors.

Aktia Bank plc’s amended articles of association have been entered into the Finnish Trade Register today, and the Board of Supervisors is thereby abolished.

Abolishing the Board of Supervisors simplifies the bank’s governance structure, increases transparency in the administration and generates cost savings.
