Allscripts appoints Gaylene Ray

Ray to serve as Company’s Vice President Professional Services for Australia and New Zealand

ADELAIDE, Australia, Oct. 06, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Allscripts (NASDAQ:MDRX) has enhanced its Australian client service team with the appointment of Gaylene Ray as Vice President Professional Services Australia and New Zealand. She will be responsible for the implementation and daily running of Allscripts client projects.

Ray joins Allscripts from Deloitte Australia, where she was a director in the firm’s Technology Advisory practice. She has 20 years of local and international healthcare experience in the areas of critical care, acute care, medicine, surgical services (including operating theatres), obstetrics, paediatrics and diagnostic services. Prior to joining Deloitte Australia, Ray occupied a similar role with Deloitte Canada. Her career began as a paediatric nurse in Sydney, NSW.

For the last eight years, Ray has specialised in large-scale Electronic Medical Record (EMR) implementations and has led the planning, design, build, test and implementation phases for large EMR implementations across multiple hospitals and networks in Australia, Canada and the U.S. Her experience includes leading the implementation of several large projects delivered by Allscripts competitors EPIC and Cerner in Australia.

“I am thrilled to be working for a global leader in health IT,” said Ray. “I am a firm believer in Allscripts’ vision for connected health and it is exciting to be introducing Allscripts’ tried and trusted methodologies to the Australian and New Zealand markets.”

Managing Director Asia Pacific at Allscripts, David Chambers, said that Ray’s hands-on experience in the implementation of clinical information systems will be tremendously valuable to Allscripts’ existing and potential clients.

“Gaylene is a proven leader of driving technology-enabled change at large, complex organisations,” explained Chambers. “She has experience at every stage of the process, from vision, conceptualization and design to change management and staff training. She has a passion for working with clients from the very outset to set them up for success. We are delighted to have her onboard.”

In April this year, Allscripts announced that its community interoperability platform, dbMotion™ is being made available to the Australian market through the cloud via Microsoft Azure.  The dbMotion™ health information exchange platform solves the problem of patient health information being scattered across many systems and sites by aggregating and harmonising data, delivering the information clinicians need in a usable and actionable format at the point of care.
