TARPON SPRINGS, Fla., Oct. 30, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Dr. Ruggero M. Santilli, Chief Scientist of Thunder Energies Corporation, a publicly traded company with stock symbol (OTC:TNRG), announces the completion of the construction of the Directional Neutron Source (patent pending) for a number of industrial applications including: the scanning of suitcases, containers or grounds to detect concealed nuclear weapons, the use in the mining industry to detect the presence and concentration of precious metals, the test of large naval welds, and other applications (http://thunder-energies.com/docs/dns1-info.pdf).

Dr. Santilli states: "The biggest threat we are now facing is the smuggling and detonation of a nuclear bomb in our Country. Homeland Security has spent over seven hundred million dollars for the detection of concealed nuclear material via X-rays or other conventional technologies because nuclear fuels such as Uranium 234 are stable metals that, as such, cannot be clearly distinguished from other metals via X-rays (http://www.thunder-energies.com/docs/Detection-fissionable-material.pdf).  The most effective way for the detection of smuggled nukes is that of irradiating suitcases, container or grounds with a flux of low energy neutrons because, in this case, some of the fuel nuclei disintegrates by releasing a shower of radiation clearly identified by available neutron, gamma and other detectors (http://www.thunder-energies.com/index.php/ct-menu-item-18/11-articles/19-article-10).

"Thunder Energies Corporation has been founded for the development of new cutting-edge technologies, including a Directional Neutron Source that produces on demand a directional flux of low energy neutrons synthesized from a hydrogen gas (patent pending). I am pleased to announce that, following theoretical studies that I initiated in the 1980s at Harvard University under DOE support, Thunder Energies Corporation has completed the construction of a Directional Neutron Source, and is initiating tests for a number of applications. As it is well known, nuclear fuels are solely available in our military bases or at national laboratories. Consequently, our tests for concealed nuclear weapons are limited to the production on demand of the needed neutron flux without actual tests on nuclear fuels that are expected to be conducted by the appropriate branch of our Homeland Security or of the Department of Defense following pending applications. By contrast, under the appropriate federal regulations, our Company can conduct full tests for the detection and concentration of precious metals in the mining industry, the test of large naval welds, and other applications not requiring nuclear fuels."
