Analogic to Premiere Revolutionary Airport Checkpoint CT Scanner, ConneCT, in the Asia-Pacific Region

System to Make Its Debut at Australian Airports Association’s National Conference in Adelaide, Australia November 13-17

PEABODY, Mass., Nov. 06, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Analogic Corporation (Nasdaq:ALOG), enabling the world’s medical imaging and aviation security technology, today announced the Asia-Pacific premiere of its ConneCT™ system for airport checkpoints. ConneCT is the only second-generation computed tomography (CT) system available for passenger checkpoints and has already been shown in Europe, the Middle East and the Americas to receptive airport and government audiences.

Analogic’s ConneCT has achieved U.S. Transportation Security Administration (TSA) certification and has met the European Civil Aviation Conference (ECAC) C2 standard for Explosive Detection Systems. It was recently approved by the Australian Office of Transport Security and added to the Aviation Security Screening Equipment List.

Analogic will have the system available for demonstration with sales partner SX Technologies at the Australian Airports Association’s National Conference in Adelaide, Booth 32-35, November 13–17.

“Recently foiled terror plots in the region have highlighted the need for highly advanced security solutions that bring a new standard of threat detection to the market,” said Mark Laustra, vice president of Global Business Development and Government Relations. “The engineering team at Analogic has developed a transformative CT system for airport checkpoints that will keep the traveling public safer than ever before.”

Analogic leverages a 50-year pedigree in imaging, applying the research and development work that it has done in medical CT imaging to aviation security, providing the most advanced imaging and threat detection for checked baggage and now for airport checkpoints.

ConneCT offers:

  • Medical-Grade 3D Imaging and touch display offering the screener a 360-degree view of the bag, seeing through clutter to reveal suspect items
  • Digital Unpack, a technology that Analogic pioneered, enables the screener to “digitally unpack” a cluttered bag and isolate a particular item for closer inspection, increasing security and reducing secondary checks
  • Automated threat detection with robust software algorithms that provide advanced threat detection capabilities
  • A design aimed at reducing the need for divestment and secondary searches and allowing passengers to keep their personal electronic devices in their bags
  • Open network architecture that will allow third-party software development to create applications that address new threats
  • Airport-friendly design and engineering to allow for low-cost, easy maintenance and a long lifecycle

The Australian Airports Association National Conference is expected to attract hundreds of attendees from airports throughout Australia and the Asia-Pacific region.
