VANTIQ 2.0 Simplifies and Democratizes the Development of Real-Time, Event-Driven Applications – Now Every Company Can Be a Digital Business

New capabilities combine powerful development and devops in a single platform

SAN FRANCISCO, Feb. 08, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- VANTIQ today announced the 2.0 release of its high-productivity platform for building, deploying, and maintaining applications that drive rapid digital transformation. As the first to market with an application as a service (aPaaS) that combines complex event processing (CEP) and the speed and agility of a high-productivity development environment, VANTIQ is paving the way for every company to become a truly digital business.

According to Gartner, “In order to gain competitive advantage, CIOs must use innovative technologies based on event-driven architecture (EDA) to support digital business transformation.” 1

Event-driven approaches are necessary for companies looking to improve agility and accelerate digital business transformation. As opposed to traditional three-tier applications, modern, event-driven applications can act in real time on the massive streams of data that devices, systems and people increasingly generate.

VANTIQ 2.0 includes new features to shorten application development times, simplify maintenance, and support continuous delivery models via integrated devops capabilities. This further reduces time to market and increases the ROI of real-time, event-driven applications supporting digital transformation initiatives.

This milestone release introduces the VANTIQ Modelo, a new web-based integrated development environment (IDE) that dramatically shortens the learning curve for developers and radically reduces the complexity of building, deploying and maintaining mission critical applications.

"VANTIQ 2.0 marks a huge step in delivering on our vision of an approachable application platform that is easy to learn and use, and that goes beyond development to support deployment and continuous enhancements to the application," said Paul Butterworth, cofounder and CTO at VANTIQ. “The implications for enabling real-time human-machine collaboration, machine-learning, augmented reality, and other emerging technologies are endless."

The VANTIQ 2.0 Platform
VANTIQ was designed from the start to deliver a high-productivity, low-code development environment for mission critical, real-time, event-driven applications that avoid the need for specialists in real-time event processing. The new VANTIQ Modelo web-based IDE takes this vision to its logical conclusion by dramatically shortening the learning curve for developers inexperienced with the platform, making it both faster to learn and easier to code.

With two modes, Development and Operations, Modelo clarifies the distinction of each functional area within the platform. Both Development and Operations can have multiple ongoing projects, allowing the developer or devops professional to organize their work in a quick and efficient manner.

Significant enhancements to the visual canvas within Modelo dramatically reduce the need for hand coding specific services in most cases. The new events monitor/debug mode allows developers to visualize, in real time, the dynamic flow of streaming event data through their applications. Modelo also provides improved support for concurrent development within a project.

As part of this release, the VANTIQ 2.0 platform also delivers integrated support for the requirements of modern digital business including natural language processing (NLP) and machine-learning (ML) capabilities. Developers can now add such functionality to their VANTIQ applications more quickly and easily than ever before.

“The VANTIQ platform – including its human to machine collaboration capabilities, real-time event processing, connectivity, and high speed of implementation – are key assets to the success of critical digital transformation projects requiring agility and tight time to market,” said Mariano Boni, managing partner, Innovation Lab at Nexworld – a developer of VANTIQ applications.

VANTIQ 2.0 is now generally available to customers and partners around the globe as an automatic upgrade in VANTIQ's application platform as a service (aPaaS) and for their on-prem and private cloud deployments.
