On February 24, 2018, Miguel Gareau, an inmate from Regional Reception Center died while in our custody.

At the time of his death, Miguel Gareau, 27 years old, had been serving a sentence of 4 years, 4 months and 15 days for Robbery since October 22, 2014.

The inmate's next of kin have been notified of his death.

As in all cases involving the death of an inmate, Correctional Service Canada will review the circumstances and contact the police and the coroner if required.
