PositiveID to Exhibit its Caregiver Non-Contact Thermometer at the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses Exposition May 22-24

Caregiver does not come into contact with the patient’s skin nor require probe covers, reducing the risk of cross-contamination and eliminating unnecessary costs

DELRAY BEACH, Fla., May 21, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- PositiveID Corporation (“PositiveID” or “Company”) (OTC:PSID), a life sciences company focused on detection and diagnostics, announced today that its Thermomedics subsidiary will exhibit the Caregiver® non-contact thermometer at the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN) National Teaching Institute and Critical Care Exposition from May 22-24 at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center in Boston, MA.

Caregiver, FDA cleared for clinical use, is a professional grade, infrared thermometer for measurement of forehead temperature in adults, children, and infants, without contact. It delivers an oral-equivalent temperature directly from the forehead in one to two seconds.

Since Caregiver does not touch the patient’s skin, it reduces the risk of cross-contamination, which is an increasing concern due to the rise of difficult-to-treat superbugs like Candida Auris that are spread from skin contact. It also saves healthcare facilities the cost of probe covers (up to $0.10 per temperature), storage space, and waste disposal costs. It is estimated that Caregiver can offer savings of $250 or more per year per device in probe cover supplies alone.

PositiveID’s Thermomedics team is exhibiting at the AACN conference to increase exposure and awareness for Caregiver and generate qualified leads for its national network of distributors.

The sold-out AACN Critical Care Exposition is the largest, most comprehensive trade show for acute and critical care nurses, advanced practice nurses, clinical nurse specialists, nurse practitioners and nurse managers as well as progressive care, transport and emergency department nurses who treat critically ill patients. AACN's audience is estimated at approximately 7,000 influential nurses.
