Code & Craft Delivers POP AR for Television Shoppers

New app places true-to-scale 3D models in home environment

NEW YORK, June 26, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Code & Craft, a technology company that specializes in producing 3D content, virtual reality and augmented reality experiences, today announced POP AR. ‘Preview of Placement’ AR is an iOS app that leverages Apple’s ARKit to place true-to-scale models of TVs on both horizontal and vertical surfaces making it easy for shoppers to determine the best size TV for their home environment. The app has been released to the app store and is available for download.

Once shoppers use POP AR to determine the best product for their needs, the app directs them to custom search results pages on websites including Best Buy, Amazon, and others, where they can make their purchase. A demo video of the app can be viewed at www.POPAR.app and was designed in conjunction with Dialogue Theory.

Late in 2017, Code & Craft launched its AR Product Catalog, the first fashion-focused mobile app that leverages photorealistic 3D scanning services. The company’s technology is helping the retail industry by making it easier and more efficient to view products online in the most life-like way possible. Additionally, Code & Craft is finding innovative ways to work with customers early in the product lifecycle when decisions are made regarding material, style and design.

“We're diehard believers in the potential of 3D, VR and AR for the retail industry but acknowledge we need to move past the 'gimmick' phase and deliver real customer value,” said Gwan Yip, Code & Craft co-founder and CEO.  “This is why we've focused on creating an experience that takes into consideration all types of customers, who are probably being introduced to AR for the first time, and are enabling a smooth purchase process by connecting them to retailers directly from within the app.”

POP AR Contest
To promote the use of the new app, Code and Craft is running an Instagram giveaway with the grand prize of a new flat screen TV. Participants need to download the POP AR app, follow the POPAR.app Instagram account and post pictures of 3D TVs in unique or interesting places in real world environments using the tag @popar.app . The contest winner will be selected by the POP AR team and notified on August 1, 2018.
