Light Reading Launches New Live Event: Cable Next-Gen Europe in London

Join us for the inaugural Cable Next-Gen Europe event on Tuesday, November 6 in London

NEW YORK, N.Y. , July 09, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- In response to industry demand, Light Reading (www.lightreading.com) will be staging a new live event, Cable Next-Gen Europe (https://tmt.knect365.com/cable-next-gen-europe/), this fall. The new one-day conference will take place on Tuesday, November 6 at the Radisson Blu Portman Hotel in London.

Following the continuing success of Light Reading's annual Cable Next-Gen Technologies & Strategies Event in Denver this past March, Cable Next-Gen is broadening its reach internationally. Similar to the Denver conference, Cable Next-Gen Europe will focus on the opportunities and challenges facing European cable operators, foster a dialogue about what the industry's next steps should be and offer technology roadmaps and business cases for the critical next few years.

Topics to be covered at the event include:

•   DOCSIS 3.1: Can European cable operators still compete against FTTH networks with DOCSIS 3.1 and future DOCSIS specs?

•   Full Duplex: How can cablecos wring greater operational efficiencies out of the HFC plant with DOCSIS 3.1, Full Duplex and future DOCSIS specs?

•   Cable Last Mile: What impact will DOCSIS 3.1, Full Duplex, Distributed Access Architecture, Fiber Deep, 5G and other new technologies have on the cable last-mile?

•   Distributed Access Architecture: Which DAA options make the most sense for European cable operators to pursue now?

•   Fiber Deep: What are the various fiber upgrade strategies for cablecos right now and which ones offer the most promise?

"The European cable industry has been looking for an independent, one-day conference focusing purely on the industry's technology needs and directions," said Alan Breznick, Cable/Video Practice Leader of Light Reading and co-host of the conference. "Based on the popularity of our decade-old Cable Next-Gen conference in the US, we believe we can supply exactly that. We look forward to tackling the tech issues that impact European cablecos the most."
