Fragrance Creators Brings the LOVE to Capitol Hill with 2018 Perfumery Event

Perfumers share the passion, creativity, science, and safety of their craft with legislators and staff

Washington, DC, July 18, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Fragrance Creators Association brought a little LOVE to the nation’s capital today with its 2018 Capitol Hill Perfumery Event, held at the Senate Dirksen Office Building, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. This interactive scent experience connected renowned perfumers from leading U.S. fragrance houses with policymakers, staff, and the media to explore the many benefits of fragrance, engage with custom-made fragrances, and learn about the industry’s important contributions to jobs and the economy.

Featured perfumers included Marvel A. Fields, of Bell Flavors & Fragrances; Olivia Jan, of Robertet USA; Heather Killgo, of Arylessence; Angélique Nadau and Linda Chinery, of Takasago International Corporation (USA); and Rafael Trujillo of Procter & Gamble. The event theme—LOVE, in all of its forms—underscored the role scents play in our memories, relationships, and lives.

As the voice of the U.S. fragrance industry, Fragrance Creators is committed to advancing science-backed policies that allow responsible fragrance companies to enhance lives through scent. The organization is fueled by its passion to educate everyone about the benefits of scent and how fragrances inspire and bring comfort, make us feel confident and unique, and remind us of life’s special moments.

“Perfumers are the lifeblood of our industry,” said Robert Weinstein, Ph.D., President & CEO, Robertet USA, and Chairman of the Fragrance Creators Association Board of Directors. “Through their passion and creativity, we are constantly innovating and bringing to life new scents that delight and promote health and wellbeing.”

“Love is more than an emotion, it’s a force that can bring people together for the betterment of all,” said Farah K. Ahmed, President & CEO of Fragrance Creators Association. “We hope this event enabled our policymakers to discover how fragrance can bring to life the power of love.”

The 2018 Perfumery Event follows the launch of the first-ever Congressional Fragrance Caucus, which Fragrance Creators announced earlier this year. Chaired by Representatives Barry Loudermilk (GA-11) and Bonnie Watson Coleman (NJ-12), the Caucus represents a bipartisan opportunity for policymakers to engage on the science of fragrance, the industry’s contributions to the economy, and more.
