Paris, 23 July 2018

Neopost, a global technology supplier of digital communications, shipping and mail solutions, today announced that Packcity Japan, a jointly owned company established in May 2016 with Yamato Transport, the Japanese leader in transportation and parcel delivery, has already installed more than 3,000 parcel lockers. This is in line with the initial plan to install 5,000 units in Japan by 2022.

Japan is listed among the top 5 largest e-commerce markets in the world[1]. The swift roll-out of the Packcity lockers was in response to the expanding portfolio of delivery options, in line with consumer demand. Packcity Japan will continue installing new units, while working to increase the value of these lockers with convenient enhancements such as returns and shipping directly from the lockers.

"Strategic partnerships such as the one in place with Yamato Transport serve our vision to provide the retail, transportation and e-commerce industry with the tools needed to drive revenue through the great shipping experiences sought after by consumers. We are a partner of choice, as the only supplier in the market today with the ability to deploy, maintain and operate an open network of secure automated lockers in different continents" said Daniel Malouf, COO of Neopost Shipping.

Neopost's Packcity smart parcel lockers enable one-stop multiple deliveries, allow for a shared use between different operators to reduce costs by mutualization. They offer multiple functionalities fit for diverse environments: corporate, residential and university mailrooms offering concierge services, retail stores for click and collect management, e-commerce missed deliveries or direct drop.

Neopost's open architecture as well as its multi-operator and shared business model are innovations that support the adaptability of Packcity lockers in different markets and multiple countries. With deployments progressing in Australia, France, Japan and the USA, Packcity is currently being launched by Neopost's subsidiaries in a number of European countries, for a concierge services usage.
