Optimal IdM Partners with Biometric Firm TypingDNA To Extend MFA Offering

Behavioral typing patterns accelerate authentication and enhance security

TAMPA, Fla., July 25, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Optimal IdM, a leading provider of Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions, today announced it has partnered with TypingDNA to bring customers a secure biometric option as part of their multi-factor authentication (MFA) solution.

TypingDNA’s behavioral biometrics can identify people based on how they type either on a mobile or desktop platform. This is a secondary form of login authentication for users who enter their email address and password.

“Having this kind of behavioral authentication extends our MFA offering and strengthens our portfolio,” said Chris Curcio, VP of Channel Sales and Partnerships at Optimal IdM. “We are very excited about our partnership with TypingDNA because of the ease of use and quick implementation they bring to our customer’s current applications.”

Raul Popa, CEO of TypingDNA, had this to say about the new partnership, "We are delighted to join Optimal IdM in the mission to accelerate the availability of a ‘no more painful’ authentication. An increasing number of people are and will be authenticated by something they already are naturally doing, such as typing."

TypingDNA’s authentication solution secures the login process for employees, vendors, partners and consumers. It also provides an added layer of security when a consumer enters their credit card credentials while performing an online transaction. A demo of the service can be found at www.typingdna.com/#demo.

“Stealing someone’s typing pattern is practically impossible. Duplicating them would be even harder, because no one has the exact same typing behavior,” said Jeff Bohren, Chief Software Engineer. “Typing biometrics improve security by preventing identity theft and minimizing the risk of online fraud.”

The Optimal IdM product and service portfolio includes a full-featured cloud Identity as a Service (IDaaS) platform named The OptimalCloud™. The OptimalCloud provides universal single-sign-on (SSO), Federation Brokering, MFA Services, authorization enforcement, audit and reporting services. It can be combined with the exclusive power of Optimal’s Virtual Directory to solve today’s unique identity, cybersecurity, regulatory and compliancy issues.

Optimal IdM’s on-premise offerings include the award winning Virtual Identity Server (VIS), which provides a secure, policy driven SSO solution incorporating Federation Services, and a single manageable console for initial authentication security policies. It provides a single view of hundreds of Active Directory forests, LDAP directories as well as other data repositories like SQL, Oracle and many others. VIS seamlessly integrates with Microsoft applications including SharePoint, Office 365 as well as on-premise legacy applications. VIS is currently integrated with more than 5,000 applications and more are added every day.
