Cardiometabolic Health Congress Presents Senior Planning Committee & Chairs

Boca Raton, Florida, Aug. 09, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- CMHC is proud to announce its finalized Senior Planning Committee & Chairpersons for the 2018-2019 season. CMHC has cultivated a groundbreaking educational planning team, with world-renowned professors, clinicians, and researchers: all of whom will help deliver the most current, clinically accurate, and scientifically sound research.

CMHC’s Senior Planning Committee includes distinguished and notable clinicians in the sphere of cardiometabolic health. Deepak L. Bhatt, MD, MPH—Chief of Cardiology at VA Boston Healthcare System, Director of the Integrated Interventional Cardiovascular Program at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, and professor at Harvard Medical School—has worked to create a program rooted in preventive cardiology, with a focus on best practices for patients with acute coronary syndromes. Keith C. Ferdinand, MD has previously served as Chair of the National Forum for Heart Disease and Stroke Prevention, and currently works at Tulane University School of Medicine and the Tulane Heart and Vascular Institute. Dr. Ferdinand specifically focuses on cardiometabolic risk in racial and ethnic minorities, and has lectured across the globe on topics including health disparities in marginalized populations. Clyde W. Yancy, MD currently serves as chief of the Division of Cardiology and the Magerstadt Professor at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. Pamela Morris, MD, expert on female cardiovascular risk and co-director of the Women’s Heart Care Program at the Medical University of South Carolina, will chair the preconference “Women’s Health Summit: Cardiometabolic Health Across the Lifespan,” a one-day session that will explore the unique challenges faced by women in cardiometabolic health.

As hundreds of participants gather at the upcoming 13th Annual CMHC conference in Boston, taking place from October 24-27, an extensive agenda of cutting-edge keynote presenters and thought leaders, clinical educational sessions, and interactive lectures will collectively deliver the most recent clinical research in cardiometabolic health to attendees. The Senior Planning Committee has collectively worked to include sessions that address the most critical and acute issues in cardiometabolic care, with a General Session that features Carl Ronald Kahn, MD: a world-renowned physician and scientist known for his work with insulin receptors and insulin resistance in diabetes and obesity. Supplemental Professional Medical Education workshops are available, in addition to an Exhibit Hall featuring the latest therapeutic developments in cardiometabolic health.

As cardiovascular health becomes an increasingly critical facet of patient wellness—coupled with the need to address root symptoms of cardiometabolic disease—the 13th Annual event marks an exciting and unique opportunity for attendees to be at the forefront of the healthcare industry. The event further offers a convenient and accessible forum for clinicians to network, engage, and internalize the latest developments in cardiometabolic health and care.
