Prescient Announces Enhancements to Leadership Team

Experienced design and marketing executives enhance Prescient’s offering to customers

DURHAM, N.C., Aug. 27, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Prescient, a fully integrated BIM design and building platform that dramatically reduces the time and cost of constructing multi-unit housing, today announced the appointment of two new members of the Prescient leadership team: Todd Meckley, Vice President of Design, and Rich Pond, Chief Marketing Officer.

Messrs. Meckley and Pond will help Prescient continue its rapid growth and support the company’s mission of “Attainable Housing for All.”  Both executives bring long track records of innovation and technical expertise to their respective roles, which will ultimately benefit Prescient’s customers, employees and investors.

Mr. Meckley has 20 years of experience in architecture, site development and construction.  He founded Entasis Design in 2005 (later merging with BSB Design), where he most recently was the partner in charge of building and growing BSB’s multi-family and student housing practice.  Mr. Meckley is an accredited LEED professional and was a member of the BSB Design Board of Directors.

Mr. Pond joins Prescient from BP, where he led the Americas Marketing Team for its Lubricants Division and guided the global brand and product strategy for Castrol.  Previously, he led the $2 billion Global Candy Category for Cadbury and then Kraft Foods out of Singapore. Mr. Pond also served as Managing Director at Cadbury Schweppes, where he was responsible for growing its global brands and leading innovation efforts at the company’s Global Science Center.

“Todd is widely recognized as one of the foremost designers in the construction industry and has done an outstanding job in founding and building BSB’s multi-family and student housing practice.  His vision and leadership will help shape our design approach and bring us closer to fulfilling our attainable housing mission,” said Magued Eldaief, CEO of Prescient.  “Rich has built a long and remarkable career based on the intimate understanding of customer needs.  At Prescient, Rich will take the lead in understanding the evolving needs of multi-unit housing residents and ensuring our innovation pipeline is addressing the needs of our developer and construction partners.”

Prescient is changing the way buildings are designed and built through quality, technological innovation, cost efficiency and environmental sustainability.  The company works with clients from the initial plan to the assembled building, and is ideally suited for multi-unit projects including apartments, student housing, hotels, military and senior living.

Satyen Patel, Prescient’s Executive Chairman, commented: “Given our aspiration to revolutionize the building environment globally and the progress we are making toward that goal, I am delighted that we have attracted two talented leaders like Todd and Rich, who understand the power of our technology and are committed to help us achieve scale.”

Prescient has delivered a compounded annual growth rate of 119% from 2013 through 2017.  This rapidly growing company built 3 million square feet (4,500 units) of multi-unit housing from 2013 to 2016 and built 1.8 million square feet (2700 units) in 2017 alone.  It recently completed a $50M Series E2 funding round, which valued the company at $650M.  The company’s current project development pipeline exceeds 10 million square feet (15,000 units) for delivery in 2018 and 2019.

"In my 23 years of experience as an architect in high density housing, I have never seen a structural system like Prescient’s, which has the potential to disrupt the construction industry in so many ways,” said Mr. Meckley.  “I was professionally introduced to Prescient more than four years ago and immediately saw how this innovative product would reduce design cycle time while bringing incredible value to our clients.  Since then, I have completed one project with Prescient and am currently designing four others, all while needing to devote fewer resources.  In doing so, I have witnessed simplified consultant coordination and 15-20% decreased construction time with stabilized hard costs.  I am excited to join this innovative company and contribute to its growth by adding value and bringing market experience from an architect's perspective."

Mr. Pond commented, “I am very excited to be joining Prescient at this moment in its history.  The company has developed a compelling vision of attainable housing using its proprietary modular construction system, a proven track record of delivery and an insatiable desire to continue to deliver innovations to help developers and contractors build faster, better and more cost efficiently than conventional methods. Prescient is an incredibly powerful, data-driven platform to address the growing urban housing needs in cities across the country and around the world.”

Mr. Meckley earned a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of North Carolina, Charlotte, and a Bachelor of Design from the University of Florida at Gainesville.  He is an associate of Science in Structural Engineering from Penn State University.

Mr. Pond earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Duke University and has a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Harvard Business School.

About Prescient
The foundation for Prescient’s revolution is a standardized light gauge framing system that utilizes proprietary software applications which create a design and construction platform.

Bringing the Digital World to the Physical World.  The Prescient Digital Thread is based on a model-centric design and planning platform that liberates project stakeholders to plan better and execute better.  Our thread connects projects from the initial architectural design through the finished building.  As a result, a project is no longer a series of isolated steps with familiar breakdowns and gaps.  Instead, it becomes an orderly progression through a repeatable flow, connecting developer, designers, suppliers and contractors at every step.  This seamless approach means higher productivity, higher quality, fewer last-minute conflicts on site, less waste, shorter schedules and a better ROI.

Integrated Manufacturing. Prescient uses precision manufacturing technology including robotics, laser cutting systems and state-of-the-art numerically controlled flexible manufacturing systems to deliver buildings with very tight tolerances, comparable to the automotive industry.  Prescient’s digital thread integrates planning & design with manufacturing & installation.

Established in 2012, Prescient is aiming for nothing less than a revolution in the way buildings take shape through new levels of cost efficiency, environmental sustainability and quality of outcome for all participants.  Prescient’s platform ensures buildings perform better, cost less and take less time to build by employing a digital thread for leading-edge integrated design, engineering, manufacturing & installation.

We are Prescient.  Our mission is Attainable Housing for All and we are achieving that by Revolutionizing The Building Environment.
