Interstate Restoration turns attention to environment

Celebrating 20 years in business, company pledges to plant thousands of trees

FORT WORTH, Texas, Sept. 24, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- In celebration of its 20th anniversary, Interstate Restoration has pledged to add thousands of trees to the environment in the coming months.

Interstate is a leading partner in the recovery and restoration of commercial property damaged by fires, storms and other disasters; but Interstate recognizes that the environment also suffers a serious impact in those catastrophes.

Partnering with One Tree Planted, a non-profit focused on global reforestation, Interstate will provide a monetary donation equaling one tree for every project Interstate and its Canadian partner, FirstOnSite, complete going forward. Last year, the two companies completed about 25,000 projects of varying sizes, including properties in fire-ravaged California and the hurricane-struck areas of Texas, Florida and the Caribbean. The focus of the initiative is to replant trees throughout North America.

As part of Interstate’s “One Project, One Tree” initiative, the company will encourage workers to roll up their sleeves with labor that supports the company’s cash donations.

“With every natural disaster, we read sadly about lives that are lost, property that is devastated and all the associated costs,” said Interstate Restoration CEO Stacy Mazur. “At Interstate, we do what we can to help people and businesses recover. But we recognize there is an ecological impact, and we want to contribute to those recovery efforts as well.”

Interstate’s commitment to the One Project, One Tree is open-ended with no maximum on the number of trees, Mazur said. Interstate has directed a specific portion of the company’s donation toward the non-profit’s “Million Tree Challenge” in California.

“We’re in the business of getting other businesses up-and-running after disaster strikes, but we recognize that these big events have additional, far-reaching, negative effects,” he said. “Somebody has to meet these challenges, and at Interstate we are eager to provide our contribution.”
