enVerid Wins 2019 AHR Expo Innovation Award

enVerid HLR Module Takes First Place in Green Building Category

Boston, US, Sept. 27, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- enVerid Systems, the leader in HVAC Load Reduction® (HLR®) technology, is proud to announce that its HLR 1000E-M has received the AHR Expo Innovation Award in the Green Building category. Awarded by a panel from the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), enVerid HLR technology was recognized for innovation, value, and market impact among green building products.  HLR modules reduce upfront HVAC equipment costs, improve energy efficiency, and provide better indoor air quality.

“We are thrilled to be recognized by ASHRAE for our technical innovations enabling superior buildings at lower cost,”  said Dr. Udi Meirav, founder and CEO, enVerid Systems. “We are seeing rapid adoption among architecture and engineering teams and this award is a validation of their use of enVerid HLR technology to improve energy efficiency and indoor air quality, without increasing their client’s building expenses.”

Legacy commercial HVAC designs rely on massive volumes of outside airflow to maintain indoor air quality, resulting in oversized equipment and a 30-50% waste in HVAC energy consumption. To eliminate this waste, HLR technology cleans a building’s indoor air at a nanoscopic molecular level, enabling the building to use far less outside air ventilation while improving indoor air quality.  Buildings can then invest in smaller, less expensive HVAC systems and these savings can pay for the HLR modules so building capital costs do not increase.  Recognizing the potential for HLR technology, the United States Green Building Council (USGBC) recently introduced Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) pilot credits that allow buildings to earn up to 12 LEED points when designed with HLR modules.  In addition, the United States Department of Energy ranked HLR technology as one of the top 3 energy saving technologies for commercial buildings.

enVerid HLR systems improve indoor air quality by removing indoor air molecular contaminants including carbon dioxide (CO), volatile organic compounds (VOCs), and aldehydes, and by reducing the intake of polluted outside air from highways, city traffic, airports and railways.  Better indoor air quality is proven to significantly enhance cognitive performance, productivity, and overall health (see a summary of the studies here).  enVerid recognizes the importance of indoor air quality (IAQ) and has developed the HLR system so that IAQ can be continuously monitored on the enVerid Cloud using Internet of Things (IoT) technology.
