CIT announces Funding Sources Series for October 2018

Events provide an overview of funding sources and programs available for researchers, entrepreneurs


Herndon, VA, Sept. 27, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Center for Innovative Technology (CIT) announced today that it will host a series of events throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia to provide an overview of funding sources and programs available for Virginia-based researchers and entrepreneurs.

Program presentations will include CIT’s Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) Funding Support Program, GAP Seed Investment Fund, Virginia Founders Fund (VFF), and the Commonwealth Research Commercialization Fund (CRCF) grant program (including details on the upcoming FY2019 solicitation).

The following events, which will cover all of CIT’s funding sources and presentations from local resources, are scheduled for Abingdon, Blacksburg, Danville, Roanoke, Sweet Briar and Wise:

  • October 10th, 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. - Abingdon, VA

  • October 10th, 2 – 5 p.m. - Wise, VA
    Slemp Student Center, UVA Wise
  • October 11th, 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. - Blacksburg, VA

A formal request for proposals for the $2.4 million CRCF FY2019 solicitation will be issued in early October. A series of briefing sessions that focus solely on this solicitation will take place in Charlottesville, Fredericksburg, Harrisonburg, Norfolk, Northern Virginia, Richmond and Williamsburg:
