MasterControl brings inspiring speakers, new product innovations, a hackathon and more to Masters Summit 2018

SALT LAKE CITY, Oct. 23, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Today kicks off the annual Masters Summit 2018 hosted by MasterControl featuring an opening session with former first-daughter Barbara Pierce Bush where she will speak about Global Health Corps, a company she founded with a mission to mobilize emerging leaders and build a movement for health equity.

Ms. Bush will open the plenary session at the conference with a presentation about her mission to mobilize emerging leaders to be changemakers and build the movement for health equity, because health is a human right.  Ms. Bush has engaged her generation in solving some of the world’s biggest health challenges and during Masters Summit 2018 she will share her passion, her success and her challenges as she inspires attendees to use their talents and make a difference. Ms. Bush’s presentation will be followed by an interactive Q&A session with the audience, moderated by MasterControl EVP of Marketing and Channel, Sara Bresee.

Just prior to the opening plenary session, MasterControl will challenge their software development team to a hackathon. To start the hackathon, customers are invited to share a list of desired product features, which will ultimately become the coding challenges for three different software development teams. After narrowing the list of features to six, each of the three teams will have 48 hours to code and bring those features to life. On Thursday, at the close of the conference all features will be unveiled as new product enhancements.

“This is the third year we have hosted a hackathon and our approach to enabling customer success by coding features LIVE is a unique and visible way to show our customers how valuable their feedback is,” said Matt Lowe, executive vice president of product development at MasterControl. “It’s a challenge for the dev teams, but with a little friendly competition between the teams, they certainly rise to the challenge.”

Continuing with the spirit of innovation, MasterControl will be demonstrating a new product during the conference. Currently in beta development with several customers, this new solution extends quality seamlessly into the manufacturing environment by digitizing and automating batch, design history, equipment calibration and maintenance records. The product is slated for delivery in January 2019.

“This is the first time a configurable electronic production record solution coupled with a quality management system will be available to the shop floor of a life science manufacturing plant,” said Lowe. “MasterControl has developed an off-the-shelf technology making it available to large and small companies alike at a reasonable cost.”

In addition to customers in the life sciences, such as the FDA, The USDA and Thermo Fisher, (who will be attending and speaking this year) MasterControl also provides quality management documentation software to Black Diamond, Godiva and Kind Nutrition Bars.

“This event is a celebration of our diverse customer base. I look forward to celebrating their successes from 2018,” said Bresee.
