Enterprise-wide deployment of Silo secures 20,000 users and enforces policy controls as global organization migrates to web based email

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., Nov. 01, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Authentic8, makers of Silo, the patented secure cloud browser, announced today that it has been selected for an enterprise-wide deployment across a global organization of more than 20,000 users.

Building on increasing momentum across commercial and government organizations, this announcement further solidifies the position of a cloud browser platform as the solution to web risk.

2018 has been a year of significant growth for Authentic8’s Silo cloud browser, including:

  • More than 100% user growth for the third consecutive year
  • Infrastructure expansion from 18 locations to 32 data centers worldwide
  • Enhanced data policy controls to support specific regulatory requirements like GDPR
  • 5 accounts of more than $1m dollars in annual contract value

Silo’s selection for deployment further enhances its leadership position in the emerging remote browser isolation category. According to Gartner, “Almost all successful attacks on users originate from the public internet and many involve web-based attacks. Security and risk management leaders can contain damage by using remote browser isolation to separate end-user internet browsing sessions from enterprise endpoints and networks.”1

Silo was selected by this global organization after a competitive evaluation of browser isolation solutions.  This customer needed a way to enforce positive security and control for remote and headquarters-based users as the organization moved from an on-premise email environment to a web-based collaboration platform.

“We needed a way to ensure that our users had full access to the new suite regardless of their location, without undermining our security or data loss policies,” said the CISO of the organization. “After evaluating Silo’s embedded policy control capability, we gained not only enhanced control of web-based usage, but also comprehensive oversight of our users’ activities.”

“We built Silo to provide a more holistic approach to securing the web than other isolation vendors,” said Scott Petry, co-founder and CEO of Authentic8.  “Remote execution of web code is not enough, and we see Silo’s centralized control of all web-based scenarios, including access controls and data policy enforcement, as the key differentiator in our selection with this customer.”

By selecting Silo, the organization can employ “follow me” policies directly within the browser, covering identity and access management, data policies, and compliance audit and oversight.  Internal tests validate that customers have reduced load on network and devices, as well as improved their compliance and incident management processes.  With Silo, customers can centralize controls directly in the browser, rather than relying on a cocktail of multi-vendor solutions to try to manage employee use of the web.  By thinning out the portfolio of existing complicated and expensive point security solutions, IT organizations can return to what matters most - enabling the business.

About Authentic8
Authentic8 redefines how organizations control use of the web with Silo, its patented cloud browser. Silo creates a perfect isolation layer between the user and the web, delivering an encrypted display of the remote browser session while preventing web code from entering the environment or reaching the end device. By embedding policies into the browser - from access controls, to DLP, to compliance auditing, Silo gives IT total command and control over the web, regardless of device, network, or location of the user. Silo is built fresh at session start and destroyed at session end, ensuring that users remain secure, compliant, and anonymous online. Try Silo risk free at www.authentic8.com.
