Ondas Networks To Highlight FullMAX Technology And The IEEE 802.16s Wireless Standard At The American Petroleum Institute in Houston

The Company will be presenting the application of FullMAX and the new standard for oil and gas operations in the 1.4 GHz frequency band

SUNNYVALE, Calif., Nov. 08, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Ondas Networks Inc., a supplier of private licensed wireless data networks for mission-critical industrial markets, announced today that the Company has been invited to speak to the American Petroleum Institute (API) Telecommunications Subcommittee on the use of the IEEE 802.16s wireless network standard for oil and gas operations in the 1.4 GHz frequency band.

The annual meeting, hosted by the American Petroleum Institute on November 8, will be held at API’s Houston, Texas chapter and is designed to bring together operators and technology experts in the oil and gas sector in an effort to address changing industry demands.  Ondas Networks will be presenting on the use of the IEEE 802.16s wireless standard and Ondas Networks’ FullMAX technology to support the ongoing shift from analog telecom data circuits to secure wireless radio technologies and for the implementation of wide area industrial internet applications for field automation, specifically in the 1.4 GHz spectrum.

The IEEE 802.16s standard was finalized in October 2017 with the support of the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI), the Utilities Technology Council (UTC) and key industry users and suppliers. IEEE 802.16s is providing oil and gas operators with access to a multi-vendor ecosystem and technologies that we believe can more efficiently use available licensed spectrum.

“Oil and gas operators have access to the licensed 1.4 GHz spectrum which we believe provides a prime opportunity to build networks capable of supporting wide area industrial networks,” said Stewart Kantor, President of Ondas Networks. “Through the standard, which our FullMAX technology supports, oil and gas operators can and are increasing their bandwidth, and mitigating their reliance on proprietary technologies. We look forward to sharing our FullMAX technology with the industry at the American Petroleum Institute.”
