Restoration Robotics® Installs First ARTAS iX™ Robotic Hair Restoration System in Japan

Dr. Harunosuke Kato of Luce Clinic Ginza to be First Physician Outside the United States to Offer Hair Restoration Procedures with the New ARTAS iX System

SAN JOSE, Calif., Nov. 15, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Restoration Robotics, Inc. (NASDAQ:HAIR), the global leader in robotic hair restoration, today announced that the first ARTAS iX™ Robotic Hair Restoration System outside the United States, which was sold in the third quarter of 2018, has been installed at Luce Clinic Ginza in Tokyo, Japan.

Dr. Harunosuke Kato, medical director of Luce Clinic Ginza, commented, “Based on my previous success with the ARTAS 9x system, on which I was able to significantly increase the number of viable grafts compared to manual procedures, I have been eager to utilize this new ARTAS iX system which has successfully automated the implantation portion of hair transplant surgery. I am confident that the new ARTAS iX system will make surgeries less time-consuming and more precise as it alleviates some of the more meticulous and variable aspects of the FUE surgery.”

Ryan Rhodes, President and Chief Executive Officer of Restoration Robotics, added, “We were very excited to install the first ARTAS iX system outside the United States following early traction already seen domestically since the system was unveiled this July. We look forward to driving further adoption of this groundbreaking technology in the APAC region, and expect international sales to be more broadly bolstered by CE mark approval which we continue to expect by year end.”
