HashiCorp Achieves Amazon Web Services Security Competency Status

SAN FRANCISCO, Nov. 26, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- HashiCorp, a leader in cloud infrastructure automation software, today announced that it has achieved the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Security Competency status. This designation recognizes that HashiCorp has demonstrated proven technology that helps customers achieve their cloud security goals using HashiCorp Vault.

Achieving AWS Security Competency status differentiates HashiCorp as an AWS Partner Network (APN) member that provides specialized software designed to help enterprises adopt, develop, and deploy complex security projects on AWS. To receive the designation, APN Partners must possess deep AWS expertise and deliver solutions seamlessly on AWS.

“Achieving AWS Security Technology Partner status was an important step in helping us ensure that our customers meet their security goals,” said Burzin Patel, VP of worldwide alliances at HashiCorp. “We have worked closely with AWS to integrate a number of key features that we feel will make HashiCorp Vault one of the go-to secrets management tools for organizations to securely run their cloud infrastructure on AWS.”

AWS enables scalable, flexible, and cost-effective solutions from startups to global enterprises. To support the seamless integration and deployment of these solutions, AWS established the AWS Competency Program to help customers identify Consulting and Technology APN Partners with deep industry experience and expertise.

HashiCorp Vault, a solution for managing secrets and protecting sensitive data, tightly controls access to secrets, such as tokens, passwords, certificates, and encryption keys by authenticating against trusted sources of identity such as AWS Identity and Access Management (AWS IAM), Kubernetes, and other trusted identity providers. Vault leverages AWS IAM and Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) for authentication and secret and credential generation, Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3) and Amazon DynamoDB for secure storage, as well as AWS Key Management Service (AWS KMS) auto-unseal. Organizations with stricter regulatory requirements also have the option of using AWS CloudHSM with Vault Enterprise for secure cryptographic operations around encryption keys, such as seal wrapping and unsealing.
