FamilyID Founder joins DraftKings and iZotope to Present on Panel of Digital Disruptors

BOSTON, Nov. 27, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- FamilyID founder and CEO Rochelle Nemrow will participate in a panel discussion titled “Marketing of Digital Disruptors” on Thursday, December 6 at Boston’s District Hall.  The panel is part of the Conversation & Cocktails series, presented by global marketing consultancy, HawkPartners.

Appearing with Jason Robins, founder and CEO of DraftKings, and Mark Ethier, CEO and co-founder of iZotope, Nemrow will share how FamilyID, inspired by her personal experience, evolved into a market-disrupting business. FamilyID simplifies program registration for thousands of schools and community organizations, and nearly 1.5 million families in 43 states.

Nemrow explains, “The inspiration for FamilyID came about from my frustration registering my kids for activities. It sounds like a small thing—just fill out a form—but multiply that by five activities and two kids and you’ve got a logistical nightmare, not to mention anxiety about the security of personal information. And it was no easier for the schools, camps and recreation programs trying to cope with an influx of data from families.”

Nemrow found herself at the nexus of an unmet market need. “I saw a way to take control of my information, my schedule and my time, while solving ongoing administrative problems for program providers.” FamilyID was born.

More than half of children between six and 17 participate in extracurricular activities, according to a 2014 U.S. Census Bureau report. Also in 2014, research by Afterschool Alliance found that 10.2 million children (18 percent) participated in an after school program, an increase from 2009.

It takes more than a great idea and a receptive market to redefine an industry. The panel discussion, led by HawkPartners founder and President Scott Berman, will probe how each panelist not only identified market opportunities but went on to build a successful business. “I’m excited to kick off the first in this series of discussions on various marketing-related topics with this distinguished panel,” Berman says. The participants also will discuss the role of digital technology and digital channels in reaching their audiences and differentiating their business models.
