FirstBank, Little Man Ice Cream, Sweet Cooie’s and Churn Host Gingerbread House Party

In Support of Habitat For Humanity, SafeHouse Denver and Homeward Alliance

LAKEWOOD, Colo., Dec. 11, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- FirstBank, one of the nation’s largest privately held banks with a focus on ‘banking for good,’ and Denver’s favorite ice creamery, Little Man Ice Cream, are partnering together to host the third annual Gingerbread House Party on Saturday, Dec. 15 from 1 – 3 p.m. at three of its locations:

The fundraising event will allow folks to create and decorate gingerbread homes in a fun, “sweet” holiday atmosphere, while also supporting nonprofits that prevent homelessness, build houses for low-income families and provide safe homes for domestic abuse survivors.

“This has grown to be more than just a popular family-friendly event; it’s an opportunity for everyone to support causes that will positively affect many deserving men, women and children across Colorado,” said Jim Reuter, CEO of FirstBank. “Little Man has been a fantastic partner, and we’re excited to not only expand the event to some of their newer locations, but benefit additional organizations. This is what the holidays are all about: compassion, giving back and enjoying time with friends and family.”

The recommended donation is $15 (donations are not required to participate, but strongly encouraged) and include the following items:

  • A gingerbread house kit that includes a ready-to-decorate gingerbread home, colorful candies, icing and more.
  • Free ice cream (limit 1 per person) courtesy of FirstBank.
  • Free hot cocoa, refreshments and music courtesy of Little Man Ice Cream, Sweet Cooie's and Churn.
  • A raffle ticket (limit 1 per person) for a chance to win FirstBank prizes including a Never Summer limited edition snowboard and $50 Visa gift cards.

FirstBank is recognized as one of the most charitable companies in Colorado. The company has helped launch and continues to be the Corporate Partner of Colorado Gives Day, which has raised more than $217 million for over 2,500 nonprofits since its inception.
