De Beers Group’s GemFair™ and Tracr™ move into RocketSpace campus in London

LONDON, Dec. 20, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Today, RocketSpace, a Silicon Valley-based external innovation consulting company and tech campus, announced that De Beers Group, the world’s leading diamond company, has moved its internal GemFair™ and Tracr™ start-up teams onto the RocketSpace tech campus in London. Tracr™, the end-to-end blockchain traceability platform being developed for the diamond industry by the diamond industry, and GemFair, a pilot programme creating a secure and transparent route to market for ethically-sourced artisanal and small-scale mined diamonds, are joining RocketSpace’s curated community of leading tech entrepreneurs and innovators at its state-of-the-art campus located next to Angel Underground Station.

This move follows RocketSpace and De Beers Group’s recently announced collaboration focused on digital and technological transformation initiatives. With the relocation of Tracr and GemFair to the RocketSpace campus, De Beers Group will further leverage RocketSpace’s holistic set of innovation services. GemFair and Tracr’s 50 team members will now have access to RocketSpace’s members-only workshops, peer group roundtables, trend talks and networking events, among other services specifically designed for high-growth tech teams. As campus members, they join RocketSpace’s roster of top tech startups and alumni, which include 23 ‘unicorns’ such as Uber, SuperCell and Spotify.

“Being a part of RocketSpace’s unique tech campus environment on a daily basis is a significant step as we continue to advance the GemFair and Tracr initiatives,” said Neil Ventura, Executive Vice President of Strategy and Innovation at De Beers Group. “The teams will benefit from working alongside like-minded innovators who are all highly focused on rapidly building industry-shaping digital solutions.”

“De Beers Group is approaching innovation from end-to-end, including immersing its tech teams in an environment that’s designed to support the unique needs of high-growth scale ups,” said Brad Strum, vice president of Corporate Services at RocketSpace. “By tapping into the potential of emerging technology, De Beers Group is creating digital solutions that deliver impactful benefits for the entire diamond industry.”
