Albioma Caraïbes: signature of the rider to the EDF contract for the 100% biomass conversion of the power plant

On 15 November 2018, the French energy regulator (Commission de Régulation de l'Énergie - CRE), announced that it had validated the terms of a draft rider to the electricity sales agreement between EDF and the Albioma Caraïbes power plant (Guadeloupe), now known as ALM 3, allowing the conversion of this 100% coal plant to biomass.

Following this deliberation, the ALM 3 plant signed the rider corresponding to its electricity sales agreement entered into with EDF on 18 December 2018.

Conversion work will begin in 2019 so that the plant can operate 100% on biomass before the end of 2020.

The work will reduce emissions by more than 265,000 tonnes of CO2 equivalent and will thereby increase the renewable portion of Guadeloupe's energy mix from 20% to 35%.

Next on the agenda: annual results for the 2018 financial year, on 8 March 2019 (before trading).
