Filament Joins the Enterprise Ethereum Alliance to Advance Enterprise Blockchain

Open source standards driving enterprise blockchain adoption through industry collaboration

RENO, Nev., March 19, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Filament, provider of comprehensive enterprise blockchain solutions for the Internet of Things (IoT), today announced that it has joined the Enterprise Ethereum Alliance (EEA), the world's largest open source blockchain initiative, to advance enterprise blockchain deployments leveraging Ethereum-based technology.

The company has become a member to collaborate with industry leaders in pursuit of Ethereum-based enterprise technology best practices, open standards, and open-source reference architectures.

“Our solutions feature turn-key support for Ethereum and Hyperledger Fabric, enabling devices to transact natively with multiple enterprise blockchain platforms. The EEA’s efforts in evolving Ethereum into an enterprise-grade technology helps advance blockchain adoption with our customers and partners worldwide,” said Allison Clift-Jennings, CEO, Filament. “The work being done at EEA is foundationally important for the entire industry and we look forward to contributing to new developments and forging partnerships through collaboration with the EEA community.”

Filament’s Blocklet™ products provide blockchain native tools and technology for enterprises and industrial corporations, enabling them to securely process and record transactions directly from IoT devices, secure RFID tags, vehicles, manufacturing equipment and other connected machines, ensuring digital trust from the edge to drive smart contracts, automation, compliance, and new revenue streams. The company’s solutions are being used by global corporations in the automotive, communications and other enterprise sectors.

Filament is also a member of Hyperledger, the Linux Foundation open source collaborative effort advancing cross-industry blockchain technologies. EEA and Hyperledger became Associate Members, respectively, within each other’s organization in 2018 to contribute to the mass adoption of blockchains for business.

With more than 500 member companies, the EEA membership base represents a wide variety of business sectors from every region of the world, including technology, banking, government, healthcare, energy, pharmaceuticals, marketing, and insurance. The EEA’s industry-focused, member-driven working groups are each tasked with creating and delivering specific advancements to the development and use of Ethereum-based technologies.

About The Enterprise Ethereum Alliance
The EEA is an industry-supported, not-for-profit established to build, promote, and broadly support Ethereum-based technology best practices, open standards and open-source reference architectures. The EEA is helping to evolve Ethereum into an enterprise-grade technology, providing research and development in a range of areas including privacy, confidentiality, scalability and security. The EEA is also investigating hybrid architectures that span both permissioned and public Ethereum networks as well as industry-specific application layer working groups.

EEA will collectively develop open industry standards and facilitate collaboration with its member base and is open to any members of the Ethereum community who wish to participate. This open-source framework will enable the mass adoption at a depth and breadth otherwise unachievable in individual corporate silos and provide insight into the future of scalability, privacy and confidentiality of the public Ethereum permissionless network.
