Automatic Train Control Market by Automation, Service, Train Type, Mainline and Region - Global Forecast to 2023

Dublin, March 21, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The "Automatic Train Control Market by Automation (GoA 1, GoA 2, GoA 3, GoA 4), Service (Consulting, Integration & Deployment), Train Type (Urban (Metro & High-Speed Trains), Mainline (Passenger & Freight Trains)), and Region - Global Forecast to 2023" report has been added to ResearchAndMarkets.com's offering.

The global ATC market is expected to grow from USD 2,244.7 million in 2018 to USD 3,667.5 million by 2023, at a Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 10.3% during the forecast period.

ATC system covers the main functionalities such as ATO, ATP, and ATS. The ATC system automatically controls train movement, enforcing train safety and directing train operations via its two sub-systems, the ATP and ATO. The ATC system has trackside ATC and train-borne ATC which works together to provide safe train separation by using train detection, localization, and end of authority protection. It also provides safe train operation and movement by using train speed determination, monitoring, over-speed protection and emergency braking. The safety of alighting and departing passengers will also be provided by using a station interlocking system.

ATP is responsible for the safety-critical functions including those of interlocking, train detection, signal aspects, broken rail detection, hazard/obstruction detectors. Also, it controls speed limit and signals commands that are sent to the train and acted upon by the on-board train control to enforce safe limits.

ATP is the primary function of train control systems and ensures to maintain a safe distance between two trains, monitor stopping point, and monitor direction of travel and rollback. ATP also ensures a safe exchange of passengers at the station by providing zero speed detection to prove the train has stopped. Door opening permission is also provided only when the train has stopped at the correct position. It also prevents the train from departing when the train and station doors are not closed.

This research report also tracks the strategic alliances and acquisitions among players in the global ATC market. The market is expected to gain traction, and this is evident from the new product launches and partnership strategies adopted by the major market players, such as General Electric Company (GE), Toshiba Corporation (Toshiba), Alstom SA (Alstom), Tech Mahindra, WSP, Cisco Systems (Cisco), Hitachi, Bombardier, Siemens, Thales, Kyosan Electric Manufacturing Ltd (Kyosan), Mermec, Advantech, Mipro, and ADLINK Technology.

These players are launching new ATC solutions and service offerings to cater to the needs of their diverse commercial clientele located across the globe.
