New India Bazar Selects Restaurant Design Concepts to Design and Architect New Café Inside Pleasanton Market

Street Food Kitchen to Provide Quick, Healthy Vegan Choices for Consumers on the Go

PLEASANTON, Calif., March 27, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Restaurant Design Concepts (RDC), California’s only full-service restaurant architectural, construction, interior design and operations company, today announced that New India Bazar has selected the company to create a new street food café within its Pleasanton Market located at 3160 Santa Rita Rd, Pleasanton, CA 94566.

Covering a 1198 square foot space, the café will cater to customers on-the-go that are looking for quick, healthy meals to eat-in or take home. The café will specialize in a full-range of traditional Indian and Indo-Chinese Vegetarian and Vegan choices such as briyani, chapathi, curries, vegetarian noodles and fried rice. The grand opening is scheduled for Winter 2019.

New India Bazar market now offers a wide range of foods from India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka and the Mediterranean including New India Bazar’s signature brands. Fresh from the farm, premium fruits and vegetables, grown locally and imported from India, are available every day. Staples include a wide selection of grains from rice and flour to lentils and whole grains. New India Bazar in Pleasanton is one of seven markets across the Bay Area that is owned and operated by the Sharda family in addition to Sri Venkatesh Bhavan, a vegetarian centered restaurant located on Santa Rita Road, across from the Pleasanton location.

Said Mona Sharda, proprietor of New India Bazar, “At New India Bazar, we pride ourselves in catering to the needs of customers in an innovative way and providing the convenience they need without sacrificing quality. As a one-stop shop, we recognized that a street-food style, casual in-store restaurant would allow customers to pick-up healthy, vegetarian and vegan meals that they can bring home to their families or eat-in, all while doing their grocery run. This saves time without the sacrifice of foregoing healthy eating. We couldn’t do it without RDC’s help. They’ve walked us through the whole process from construction permitting to design and build-out, guiding us through every step of the way.”

“We’re excited to help New India Bazar bring their concept for a street-food café style restaurant to life,” said Jeff Young, president of Restaurant Design Concepts. “The café offers modern design at its best, a great use of space and is a perfect example of how grocers across the Bay Area are answering the call of customers for unique, fast-casual dining experiences.”
