Caavo Expands Support for Control Center with In-home TV Monitoring and New Features

SAN FRANCISCO, April 02, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Caavo Inc., a San Francisco-based startup on a mission to unite entertainment for everyone, today announces Telescope™, a new in-home TV monitoring tool that allows you to use one Control Center to view what’s playing on the TV connected to another Control Center within your home. Also, Caavo adds enhanced TV and Over-The-Air (OTA) tuner support for Control Center.

“Our goal is to make TV the heart of the home,” says CEO and co-founder of Caavo, Andrew Einaudi. “We want everyone to be able to use the TV without help, we want families to watch something great together, and we want people to be able to get more use out of the biggest screen in their home.”

When Telescope is in use, a message will notify users that their screen is being shared so there is full visibility to what is being watched on all screens. Telescope only works on TVs connected to a Control Center that are on the same network within the home. Consumer information is not shared or sent to the cloud, and the use of the feature is entirely optional.

“Privacy is of critical importance to us, and we also know that parents want visibility into what their kids are watching,” adds Einaudi. “Telescope is designed to provide families more meaningful ways to check-in when there are multiple TVs in the home, to start simplifying parental controls and monitoring.”

Control Center already offers smart home integration through its partnership with IFTTT™.

Caavo also announces enhanced support for Over-the-Air (OTA) tuners and improved TV controls.

Over-the-Air Tuners
Control Center now supports popular external cord cutting OTA tuners that access free TV programming from local broadcast stations, making it a great solution for Cordcutters who want to control their streaming media players, broadcast TV, game consoles and sound systems with one universal remote. Control Center now works with brands including Channel Master, Mediasonic Homeworx and more. Standalone OTA tuners from other manufacturers are also supported using IR learning.

Expanded TV Support
Caavo also expands Control Center’s ability to navigate standard lp0TV controls. You’ll now be able to use your Control Center universal remote to control your Samsung Smart TV, Sony Android TV, Roku TV and LG Smart TV. For nearly all other TVs, Control Center will continue to power on/off, control volume, and navigate on-screen menus using left, right and enter keys. The Control Center remote can access your TV menu, open and navigate apps and control power and volume.

Control Center is now available for $99.95 and requires a service plan of $1.99 per month, $19.99 per year or $59.99 lifetime. Control Center is available at Best Buy, BestBuy.com, Home Depot, Walmart.com and Caavo.com. For more information visit www.caavo.com
