Gravitational Has Record Year with Doubled Revenue and Tripled Enterprise Customers

Kubernetes and Infosec experts sustain growth trajectory after a single round of seed funding

OAKLAND, Calif., April 03, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Gravitational, the company that helps companies to securely deliver their applications into any environment, announced record growth in 2018 by tripling its number of enterprise customers, doubling its revenue, nearly tripling downloads of its Community edition software (OSS) and even ended the year profitable. The Oakland-based startup is poised for greater 2019 growth after more than tripling its bookings in Q1 year-over-year.

Gravitational has made strides in the open source community with updates to its popular Kubernetes application packaging solution, Gravity, and modern privileged access management system for cloud-native infrastructure, Teleport. Both technologies streamline the grueling processes associated with multi-cloud application delivery and management.

New customers in 2018 include Samsung, Telefonica, Sumo Logic, Snowflake Computing, Epic Games and Under Armour.

“Our team comes from a cloud computing background and we are solving problems that we have previously experienced ourselves when building and running complex cloud applications,” said Ev Kontsevoy, Chief Executive Officer at Gravitational. “Our mission is to make cloud-native software run by itself. As cloud technologies have made server administration a thing of the past, we are pushing forward to make security, compliance and application portability accessible by application developers without having to rely on dedicated teams assigned to these tasks.  We attribute our current success to a deep understanding of larger market needs and our commitment to keeping our solutions open source.”

Gravitational Bolsters Leadership Team
Gravitational has also appointed a new head of marketing and head of sales in order to scale its enterprise go-to-market. The company’s leadership team expansion brings industry expertise to meet the high performance demands of the enterprise market including:
