NEW YORK, May 07, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Questex, a business information company, is expanding its team with new hires to bolster its growth. Questex has named Kurt Nelson, Group Vice President, Talent Strategy and Derek James, Director, Information Technology. These new leaders will support Questex’s business strategy and accelerated growth.
Nelson will be responsible for creating the human resources vision, direction and leadership for Questex. He will also oversee traditional HR functions. With a proven track record of leading organizations through significant stages of change including CEO leadership, ownership structure as well as acquisitions and mergers, Nelson brings over 20 years of strategic, senior-level human resources experience. As Senior Vice President, Human Resources, Nelson ran the human resources function at Penton, prior to its acquisition by Informa PLC. Nelson will also serve as a member of the Questex senior leadership team and will report directly to Paul Miller, CEO, Questex.

James is a successful IT professional, skilled at analyzing problems, developing and simplifying procedures and creating great innovative solutions. He brings significant experience in large scale migrations and in planning and implementing new strategies to improve and maximize technology-related resources. James was most recently a Senior Infrastructure Engineer at PrismHR. Earlier in his career, James gained information services experience at O’Reilly Media and Hachette Book Group. James will report to Debra S. Mason, Chief Financial Officer, Questex.
