ACWA Presents Leadership Award to Dr. David Kimbrough

Recognized as Leader in Water Quality Research, Lab Accreditation Standards


MONTEREY, Calif., May 09, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Association of California Water Agencies (ACWA) today presented its 2019 Excellence in Water Leadership Award to Dr. David Kimbrough, Water Quality Manager at Pasadena Water and Power, for his many years of leadership and service to the California water quality industry.

Throughout his career, Dr. Kimbrough has dedicated himself to advancing water quality standards and protecting public health in California. Considered a leading expert and advocate on matters of laboratory accreditation and standards, Dr. Kimbrough has helped bring about significant reforms and improvements to the water quality field across the state.

“Dr. Kimbrough has made incredible contributions to the California water community, particularly in the areas of public health and water quality,” said ACWA President Brent Hastey. “With more than three decades of experience, he brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his field. ACWA has greatly benefited from his service to our organization through his leadership of our laboratory issues workgroup, and we are proud to join many of his colleagues in recognizing him for this special award.”

The Excellence in Water Leadership Award – Building a World of Difference® recognizes individuals (and groups of individuals) who have made a remarkable and visible contribution to California water. The award, sponsored by Black & Veatch Corporation, was presented during ACWA’s 2019 Spring Conference & Exhibition in Monterey where more than 1,500 local water officials are gathered through Friday for programs and panel discussions on a variety of key water issues.
