Accomplished Litigator Regina M. Rodriguez Joins WilmerHale

Denver, Colorado, May 13, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- WilmerHale is pleased to announce that Regina (Gina) M. Rodriguez—a highly respected litigator whose years of success and reputation, both in private practice and as an assistant US attorney, led to her nomination as a US district court judge—has joined the firm as a partner in its Denver office.

Ms. Rodriguez will be a key member of the firm’s leading Government and Regulatory Litigation Practice, though the firm envisions her deep and broad experience will serve its clients across the nation and internationally. Besides adding to the already impressive strength of the firm’s growing Trials Practice, she adds further investigations and crisis management experience.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Gina to WilmerHale,” said Ken Salazar, partner in charge of the firm’s Denver office. “She has superb experience in litigation and investigations in both private practice and government service. A fierce and highly regarded advocate for those she represents, she will greatly benefit clients in the Mountain West and beyond. We’re proud to call her our colleague.”

“WilmerHale’s investment in Denver has, in only several years, created an exceptional team with a well-deserved reputation for getting positive results for clients facing difficult challenges,” Rodriguez said. “It’s an exciting time to join this team and the firm. I look forward to contributing significantly to this growing success story.”

A native Coloradan, Ms. Rodriguez arrives at WilmerHale after being a Denver-based partner at two major national law firms for a combined 17 years. She built a successful litigation practice handling cases across many industries as lead trial counsel in complex litigation. She has worked with life science, health care, consumer and diversified industrial companies on a wide range of commercial matters, including M&A due diligence, strategic advice and litigation, regulatory and compliance matters, and class actions. She also defends clients in government investigations.

Ms. Rodriguez’s reputation as a litigator resulted in President Obama nominating her in 2016 to be a US district judge. Her nomination stalled, however, due to the Senate impasse on judicial confirmations, and it expired with the end of the 114th Congress in January 2017.

Prior to her work in private practice, Ms. Rodriguez was an assistant US attorney and chief of the civil division in office of the US attorney for the District of Colorado. In that role, she supervised and directed all civil cases for the office.

Ms. Rodriguez earned her JD from the University of Colorado School of Law, and her undergraduate degree from the University of Iowa. She is a fellow of the American College Trial Lawyers and a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates.
