Zephyr Real Estate-Marin Holds 4th Annual Spring Cleaning Day


SAN FRANCISCO, May 15, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Late last month, Zephyr Real Estate-Marin held its fourth annual Spring Clean, hosted by 17 agents who were on the scene for their clients and neighbors. The event began at 9 am, but cars were lined up well in advance to drop off their items.

Think Pink & Green, a junk removal service that collects items and donates, distributes and recycles as much as possible so that as little as possible goes into landfill, was on hand as well as Access, a shredding company that shreds paper and hard drives, and Goodwill Industries.

"This is a great customer appreciation event that we do every year. People stop me in the grocery store and ask when the next one is going to be. We help clients get their homes ready for sale every day. But this is different. This is helping people who have no intention of moving get a handle on the clutter inside their homes," said Jenn Pfeiffer, Sales Manager for Zephyr Marin.

This is an annual event, and agents can invite their clients, friends, family and neighbors. It's held in the Bon Air Shopping Center parking lot. An invitation is required, although invitations are available by calling the Zephyr front desk. "We had one woman donate all of her mom's belongings, who had just passed. The woman was completely overwhelmed and having a hard time figuring out where to send items. This is sort of a one-stop drop," Pfeiffer said.

Chris Backer, the Marin Association of Realtors President Elect and Mark Machado, former MAR president, saw many clients come through. "It's such a feel-good event! Everyone is really happy that you're helping them clear out their garages!" said Mark Machado.

Couches, computers, clothes, coffee makers were all dropped off. "There were so many high quality sporting goods dropped off today that it would make sense for a youth sports organization to get involved with us," said Jenn Pfeiffer. Lots of household items were packed up in the Goodwill 48-foot truck, a natural partner. "Goodwill meets the needs of all job seekers, including youth, seniors, veterans and people with disabilities and giving second chances to those with criminal backgrounds. In 2017, Goodwill helped more than 288,000 people train for new careers." Pfeiffer quoted a portion of Goodwill’s mission statement. “We like working with them. They are great people and a wonderful organization.”
