Plug Power Opens Doors for First Annual Plug Symposium

Symposium brings together hydrogen fuel cell industry’s thought-leaders to discuss pertinent issues that will help accelerate the growth of the industry

LATHAM, N.Y., Sept. 17, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Plug Power Inc. (NASDAQ: PLUG), a leading provider of hydrogen engines and fueling solutions enabling e-mobility, begins the two-day Plug Symposium today. The Plug Symposium is bringing together the hydrogen and fuel cell industry’s thought-leaders to discuss pertinent issues that will help accelerate the growth of the industry.

The Symposium sets the stage for a dynamic discussion regarding the role of hydrogen fuel cells in unfolding vehicle electrification. Day one of the program is featuring key industry players who will discuss the hydrogen and fuel cell landscape — expected to see 5.3M fuel cell electric vehicles on the road by 2030 — along with current trends, supply chain dynamics, and customer perspectives.

Among an impressive agenda of industry experts, speakers represent leading experts including McKinsey, Walmart, StreetScooter — a subsidiary of DHL, United Hydrogen, Washington Tax and Public Policy Group, Morgan Stanley and Generate Capital. This variety of speakers is guaranteed to provide the audience with a well-rounded vision of the holistic hydrogen and fuel cell industry, and also ensure that the viability of the solution is examined through real-world case studies.

“Plug Power is the leading technology company developing hydrogen and fuel cell engines and stations for the broader transportation market,” said Andy Marsh, Plug Power CEO. “It is only fitting that we would host an event bringing together the industry’s most influential thought leaders. I’m excited to welcome more than 100 guests to Plug Power for the first annual Plug Symposium.”

“Plug Power has a history of building transformative technology, and we are excited to share our story with a broader audience,” said Sanjay Shrestha, Plug Power CSO. “Its rich technology set has done so much to expand the scope of the current state of the industry. Our ability to bring together such critical voices for an analytical discussion of hydrogen, fuel cells, policy and the future of customer adoption is not just positive for Plug Power, but also the broader industry.”

The Plug Symposium will conclude on day-two, where Plug Power will roll out its five-year plan to analysts and institutional investors.
